Elderly Friendly Design
This layout transforms the void deck into a space where the elderly can feel more comfortable in their void deck and enjoy having social interactions in the safe place. They also can engage with the new planned features of the void deck which includes a community café run by the elderly, a fitness section, and a gardening area. Community Cafe
A built-in café that is air-conditioned and run by senior residents in the neighbourhood. This provides a way for the elderly to lead a more fulfilling and active lifestyle. The elderly will be working and serving customers with a pay-as-you-wish system, so that customers won't be pressured to pay what they wouldn't.
Gardening Area
A space for the elderly who enjoys nature to grow their plants. The floor of the space will be covered with carpet grass and will be filled with pots and planters (placed by the elderly). As well as benches/stools given by residents who have no use for them.
Elderly Fitness Area
A space for the elderly to exercise and maintain their fitness and health. It also provides a convenient way for them to engage in physical activities as the fitness area is located at their void decks. The fitness equipment will be provided by HDB just like how other void decks have a built-in fitness corner.
